In Christ You Are A New Creation (article 1)

One of the most underestimated truths communicated to the people of
GOD is found in II Co.5:17 “Therefore If any man be in Christ; he is a new creature: old things are past away; behold all things have become new.” This one of the most amazing statements in scripture to be heard. To even think on this Interrupts and even boggles
the mind. To study this truth of being a new creation further destroys the common and limited views of ‘Who’ we are as Christians.

Most of the Christian body still only lives with the appearance of what they see in the mirror everyday. They unknowingly identify with the residual of an old creature (Adam) with all of his mistakes, failures, and fears. Its as if body of Christ spend their days walking in the house of mirrors at the carnival. All they see is a disfigured image of themselves. Their conscience is riddled with guilt and clobbered with condemnation. They’re living on a hope and a prayer that if they can just hold on a little while longer that God will come to show some favor to them.

The fact is that God has shown favor to all who believe to the extent that he has made us new creations. Again the word of God says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ; he is a new creature: It is vitally important for us to understand the preposition ‘in’, which announces placement or position. ‘If any man be positioned in Christ’ This position is a legal and relational position of belonging. This position is given to any man by faith. This position is not earned through any merit of human effort. If any man hears and acts on the good message of what God did about sin through the cross of Christ, the Holy Spirit legally and procreatively places that man in Christ. All because the seed of Christ is placed in that man. This is the born again experience.

THE FIRST POSITION

Every man born upon planet earth is born in the position of Adam. He born in relation to Adam. Adam was the head of the human race. Adam was the seedbed of Humanity.

“And He has made all nations of men of one blood to dwell on all the face of the earth, ordaining fore-appointed seasons and boundaries of their dwelling,”(Act 17:26)

All men are traced back to one origin, one blood, one man even Adam. Adam was positioned in Eden. We were in Eden because we were in Adam. Adam was in the presence and glory of God. We were in God’s presence and glory because we were in Adam. Adam sinned and was evicted from the presence of God. We were evicted from the presence of God. Do you know why? That’s right, we were in Adam. Adam became the poster-boy for having the image of condemnation, guilt, failure and fear. And all that Adam became, was passed on to all
of us his seed. Why? Because; we were in Adam.

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world and death by sin, and death passed upon all men, for all have sinned.”(Ro 5:12)

Sin and death became our covering because Adam entered into it. Humanity was to live in Adam, suffer in Adam and die in Adam until the entrance of the last Adam.

1 Corinthians 15
(45) And so it is written, ‘the first man, Adam, became a living soul,’ the last Adam was a life-giving Spirit.
(46) But not the spiritual first, but the natural; afterward the spiritual.
(47) The first man was out of earth, earthy; the second Man was the Lord from Heaven.

Categorically, God only sees two men in the earth. Yes, of course he sees every individual person, but categorically God sees two men. They are two heads of the human race.

The first man is an act of creation.
The second man is an act of redemption.

The invitation to humanity is to be translated out of the first position
(Adam) and into the second position (Christ Adam)

The principle here is: Whichever head you’re under or positioned in,
that’s what you are and that’s what’s
accounted to you.

“For as by one man’s disobedience, many were made sinners,
So by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous”(Ro.5: 19)

The above verse of scripture is referring to Adam – by one man’s disobedience.
Also the Christ Adam – the obedience of one.

God finds the human race living in the position of the first Adam’s
disobedience.

Are you still in the position of the first Adam?

Many Christians will experience failures, faults and sins in their lives. They will reach a point of breaking and cry out to the Lord for him to make them over again. They will pray ‘Lord make me more like you. They are enlisting God to make their flesh to behave better. Well, God’s aim is not the flesh of a man but his heart. It is the spirit of a man that he seeks to change and make new.

Many of God’s people have not fully realize that they have already been changed into a brand new person. The born again spirit is the result of the life seed of Christ being sown in that man’s spirit.

(1 John 3:9) “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

It does not matter how many Christians attempt to avoid this verse of scripture, it is still true none the less. It says what it says and will not change. The born again spirit is the only part of man that can be born of God. That birth is directly related to the seed of God sown in him.

At that point that man, that believer has become a new creation. He or she in literally a new species of being. The natural man has become a God-man on the planet. What makes the christian different than any other human being is that christian is a composite of two natures.
First, the flesh nature of man and second, the divine nature of God.

It amazes me that christians don’t take time learn the reality of who they are in Christ. And that many christians spend much of their precious time on earth seeking to identify and fit in with the characters and arenas of this world. Think of it. A God person trying to fit in with a Godless person. An eternal life person trying to fit in with a spiritually dead person. A person of light trying to fit in with a person of darkness. a square peg trying to fit into a round hole?

2 CORINTHIANS 6
(14) “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

(15) And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

(16) And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in [them]; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

(17) Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean [thing]; and I will receive you,

Because the typical Christian mindset has not been taught who they are as new creatures, they go on living with a sentimental attachment to their natural identity and ignore the spiritual identity in Christ.

The Apostle John while on the isle of Patmos, was shown a prophetic vision of the Church age by Christ. The last part of the church age was typified by the Laodicean church. They were described as being luke warm. being satisfied in their ignorance of the Lord because they identified with carnal fleshy realities. They thought that they were rich and increased with goods. They thought they had need of nothing.
But Jesus said of this church that they were deceived saying, “and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:”(Rev 3:17)

When God’s people can’t see that they are new creatures then perhaps they are trusting in the human side which is wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked.

EPHESIANS 4
the Apostle Paul admonished the Ephesians “walk not as other gentiles walk, In the vanity of their minds,” “Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:”

Paul Further states, “you didn’t learn this from Christ” (Eph 4:20)

He continues, If you had learned from Christ or his words, you would have known this truth,

(22) “That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt
according to the deceitful lusts;”
(23) “And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;”
(24) “And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true
holiness.”
